Agua Caliente Elementary School
is located on a seven acre campus on Limberlost Road, less than one
mile east of Melpomene Way. In Spanish, Agua Caliente means "hot
water." The school and nearby Agua Caliente Wash are named for the
local hot springs.
ACES, as it is commonly known, currently has 403 students enrolled in
grades K-6, a teaching staff of 30, and average class sizes in the
mid-20's. Instructional aides are employed to assist classroom
teachers. A school nurse is available during school hours to assist
students with medical and health needs. An ala carte style lunch
program is available. There are many opportunities for parents to be
active participants in school programs.
State of the art facilities, including a hands-on science lab,
computer lab, exploratory nature trail, and soon to be completed
broadcasting capabilities are the setting for a strong and diverse
instructional program. In addition to the core curriculum, students
participate in music, art, band, P.E., Spanish and computer classes
on a regular basis.
In the special education program, students with specific learning
difficulties have individualized education plans designed to meet
their specific learning needs. All classes are taught in a
cross-categorical setting and students are mainstreamed according to
their needs.
It is important to note that students from ACES traditionally score
above the national, state, and county norms each year on the Arizona
required standardized tests.
